Thornhill Road Gardens is a neighbourhood space in Islington housing a war memorial and several pretty rose bushes. The sunbathing dogs were a nice touch!
The paved square is surrounded by a low wall, mature trees and benches, making it remarkably relaxing. The languid dogs certainly weren’t troubled by the passersby.
The flowerbeds encouraged the sense of time to stop and smell the roses.
The Celtic cross war memorial hinted to a less peaceful time, while the thoughtful graffiti gave a sense of modern-day unease.
Visited during Open Garden Squares Weekend 2017.
