With a lily pond, tidy lawns and a row of pretty cottages, Red Cross Garden is an oasis of calm in the city. Like so much of London, it combines aspects of the past and present, through historical links to philanthropist Octavia Hill and views of one of our era’s most striking symbols of modernity, The Shard.
If you’re trying to fit as much as possible in to your Open Garden Squares Weekend, Red Cross Garden is good as it tends to open early and close late. Details at http://www.opensquares.org/detail/RedCross.html
